Palm-Reading-GuidePalmistry or chiromancy has been a method of predicting the future for thousands of years. This practice is based on the idea that an individual’s palms are as unique as they are and the lines, shapes, and other characteristics of the hand all represent various signs that are useful in predicting the future. Each aspect of the palm has a meaning linked to uniqueness, sentiment, wellbeing, talent, worries, interactions, power, or oddities, each of which can be accurately read on a person’s palm. How the future is predicted reading the palm can be understood using this palm reading guide.

Shape of Hands

The shape of the hands is the first factor used in determining a person’s characteristics and predicting their future. There are five basic elemental hand shapes common across all individuals, each with its own meaning as well as the mixed hand type. These five shapes are the elementary-square or useful hand, the philosophic-knotty hand, the psychic-idealistic hand, the spatulate-nervous active type hand, the conic-artistic type hand, and the mixed hand. Each shape can be associated with one of the elements of air, fire, water, earth and ether, although not all palm readers use this method.

Conic hand-tapered nails and smooth fingers with the palm being wider than the fingers. People with this hand type often are impulsive in nature or are very artistic and enjoy the physical pleasures in life, tend to be influenced by those around them, and are fabulous communicators. At times, those with conic hands can have lively tempers and their impulsivity can lead them to being a bit irresponsible.

Spatulate hand-both the fingers and hand are flat in appearance and resemble a spatula, wide at the base and elongated towards the fingertips. These individuals want to be engaged in something all the time and are often searching for something to do due to their preference for intellectual pursuits. Energetic and never dull, these individuals can be quick to excite or become impatient easily.

Psychic hand-also known as the pointed hand for its small and slender shape, smooth fingers, and long fingertips which are narrow. These individuals are idealistic, dreamy in nature, and are the true visionaries. They are interested in psychic abilities, the occult, religion, traditions, and rituals. They may experience issues regarding punctuality and self-discipline.

Square hand-square shaped palm, boxy wrist and fingers with a larger thumb. These individuals are both determined and persistent and do not enjoy chaos. Very punctual and meticulous in their work, this type is trusted for their honesty, their non-confrontational manner, and their practicality.

Intellectual hand- also known as the knotted hand due to the knotted, bony features on their hands, palms, and fingers. Scholarly and rational, these individuals are interested in new ideas and learn quickly.

Mixed hand- Much like its name, these hands are a mix of the types above and are seen in people who are flexible, friendly, and versatile.

Main Lines in Palmistry

The heart line- this line reflects emotional stability, romantic perspectives, depression, and cardiac health.

The head line-This represents a person’s learning style, communication approach, intellectualism, and thirst for knowledge. A curved line is associated with creativity and spontaneity, while a straight line is linked with practicality and a structured approach.

The life line-reflects physical health, general well-being, and major life changes (for example, cataclysmic events, physical injuries). Its length is not associated with length of life.

The fate line -(only some people have this)- also known as the line of destiny, and it indicates the degree to which a person’s life is affected by external circumstances beyond their control

Mounts in palms

The mounts of the hand are named after the planets and whether they are developed, underdeveloped or prominent can have effects on their meaning. The names of the mounts are as follows:

  1. Index Finger the mount of Jupiter-Educational achievements, honors, Spirituality, Government Services, leadership, organization and Authority and willingness.
  2. Middle finger the mount of Saturn-extraordinary talent and the success or respect in life of any individual mankind.
  3. Ring Finger the Mount of Sun or Apollo-indication of success in life.
  4. Smallest finger the mount of Mercury-When in Normal position it indicates great Oratory skills, varied nature, love of poetry, tact, success, in the field of science and commerce and connected with the materialistic prosperity and affluence in individual’s life.
  5. Mount of Mars Positive/ mars Negative-connected with the Courage, Power Administration, arms, wars and leadership.
  6. Mount of Venus-is an indicator of love, romance, passion, sensuality, the lovers one chooses and physical appearance.
  7. Mount of Moon-really very deeply connected with the beauty and imagination.

Significance of key markers in Palmistry

The dominant hand is chosen for the reading as this is the hand of the future. The various types of lines and mounts all have their specific meanings and a few are outlined here.

The heart line is then identified. If it begins beneath the middle finger it is said that the individual is selfish when it comes to love. If the heart line begins in the middle the person falls in love very easily but if it is short they fall in love less often. A heart line which touches the life line is someone who’s heart can be broken rather easily. Other variation of this line each have their own meaning.

If the head line is short it means that the person prefers physical achievements rather than intellectual ones. A curved, sloping line is seen in individuals which are very creative. A wavy line is usually indicative of a short attention span whereas a deep thick one is that of someone who has mental focus and clarity. Donuts or crosses on this line signify emotional crisis and a broken line indicates inconsistency of thought.

A life line that runs close to the thumb is often seen in individuals that are tired quite often, curved denotes an energetic individual, and deep displays vitality. If this line is short and shallow it means the person can be easily manipulated.
